3 Notebooks, 3 Thinkers
The history of philosophy is filled with some fascinating 'schools of thought' dedicated to tackling life's big problems in distinctive ways. We've created this exquisite set of notebooks in honor of The Stoics.
Each notebook carries an introduction to a great Stoic thinker on the inside front page, their name beautifully printed on the cover - and otherwise empty pages for your own projects.
Stoic philosophers featured in these notebooks: Seneca, Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius
The Stoics are the ideal thinkers for our anxious and treacherous times. Their ideas were formed in the volatile world of ancient Greece. They emphasize that things tend not to turn out as we would ideally like; how bad luck, or a willful decision made by distant, powerful people can wreck our plans. We need to hear this. The Stoics wanted to know how they could cope with chaos. They wanted to be less vulnerable and more – as we still say in tribute to them – stoic. They offer an intriguing and valuable corrective to the assumption that everything will be fine, that we can do anything and have everything. They invite us to join them in their quest for order, calm and reason in a difficult world.
